Edmond died yesterday. He had leukemia for two years and it was inevitable. But what was very wrong was that none of them notified us. None. Of. Them. I happened to click on a notification of Gary's and there it was. A nice memorial thing for Edmond. Amid all the condolences I wrote, "WTF? I had to find out on FB?" This morning my comment is no longer there. I called and told Rita - she didn't know. I called Madelene - she didn't know. But she wouldn't since she was a bigger outcast from the family than I was. I'm a little pissed right now.

Started reading The General's Women, by Susan Wittig Albert. About Eisenhower and his wife and girlfriend. Based on a true story.
Also picked up my second sock that I am trying to make. Made the first one years ago and started the second. Sam and I both bought Ipods so now I can use Knit Companion again. I was able to start working on the sock right where I left off.
Classes are going well. I really like Abnormal Psychology.
And - ta da! - Lindsey is going to be having a baby girl sometime around July.
I finally used my Pressure pot xl or whatever it's called. I made artichokes and they came out great. Now I'll be using it for other things. That's another thing I had sitting unused for months.
Oh! Twisted Vine restaurant will be on Kindred Spirits this Friday. I'm excited to see what they got. The Lion's club is having our after the holidays holiday get-together there next month.

It snowed last night and a little into this morning. I didn't want to shovel off my car or go to a late Mass so I missed my first Mass of the year. I hope I don't make a habit of that. I went on January 1st and every Sunday since. Been going to St. Mikes because it's right here.
But I did finish my first week of Abnormal Psychology. I'm off tomorrow and have to bake cookies in my toaster oven/air fryer because the oven has gone completely wonky. I might just make boiled cookies as long as they harden. If they don't, I will have to bake six or eight cookies at time in the air fryer. I need two dozen for the cooking club on Wednesday and another couple of dozen for the Lion's Club after that for a pot luck. Ugh!! LOL!!!
I will also try to pack a bin of seasonal stuff to bring to Margaret's to store in her basement until I need it. It's a shame I can't use my own basement, but it's so bad down there that everything molds. I am trying to free up some room around here.
And I hope to start my next unit in class. With any luck tomorrow will be a productive day.

And she keeps on going. No matter how many times I ask Roseann to stop, she just keeps going. I really believe that she was never a friend although I know in her heart she thinks she was. How can someone be your friend and be so toxic to you? I didn't even bother to read the last email. I'm sure it's really nasty especially since in my ending email I mentioned her doing this often and how she didn't talk to me or Allen for 10 years and missed the birth of my kids. I could have gone further and said remember giving Allen a black eye and remember literally kicking me out of your car? But I didn't. I just wanted it to stop. It's not so I just sent her emails right to the Unwanted folder. I am not answering this last one. I'm not even going to read it.
I did unfriend her from Facebook, along with Denise who hasn't posted to me since summer maybe? And Craig (Mr. Greyrider) whose ever post is anti Muslim, anti Democrat, anti this or that. I am very over all the negativity showing up on my page. And I'm over people who don't respond ever to me.

I was hoping this new year would be a positive one but it seems to be spiraling downward and it's only 13 days into it. First the car and now Roseann. I simply can't deal with her anymore. She is roaring mad at me because I didn't tell her Donna Pyz has cancer and has been dealing with it for years. Why in the hell should I tell her or anyone else? And Roseann couldn't even remember that Donna went to high school with us.
Maybe I am self-absorbed like she says I am. Who the fuck knows? I honestly don't care. I've lost too many friends lately and it doesn't bother me so that's a little scary. I don't mean by death but by them dumping me. Apparently,I am supposed to be whatever others want me to be except for being myself.
I guess myself isn't a very good or very nice person. I don't plan on changing though. I do what I can and the best that I can and if it's not good enough - oh well.

God answers prayers. James Aho, pedophile and general asshole, was sentenced to 50 years in prison today, suspended after 35. So that's 35 minimum - making him 78 when he gets out. Diana and the girls can breathe easy now. And the rest of us can too.
Worked 1.5 hours OT today and yesterday. Want to pay off bills and get ready for the cons and stuff.
Joined Yarnable from Hypnotic Yarn. It's $40/month with shipping but you get a skein of hand-dyed yarn and other goodies. I need to get my but in gear when it comes to working on my stash. I have yarn all over the place. But I love it!

Did a load of laundry in our little portable washer. That should be all my stuff that needs washing right now. Then I got ambitious and took Manny and Mochie (did I write about Mochie?) for a walk. Just to St. Mike's and back.
Oh yea, I went to 8:00 Mass at St. Mike's this morning. It's so easy just to walk over there. I hope to go every week and eventually back to St. Mary's. But St. Mary's keeps changing hours and stuff and I can't keep up.
They gave out little kits at Mass - with incense and chalk and directions to bless your house and write the stuff in chalk over your front door. I did do that.
Someone posted this link and I'd love to remember this stuff. Hopefully the link will stay live so I can:

Hm. Very strange but the link does work.
So now I think I"ll take a tiny nap until Sam calls to say she's ready to be picked up. Then I'll see what's what.
Oh yea - those 20 pounds I had lost since starting WW two years ago? 12 of them are back. I need to get back on track. I have sausage legs again. Argh!

I went to New Morning Market and Market 32 today. Bought a mess of stuff. I love New Morning Market for their cool stuff.
Susan, Ian, and I went to M.A.G.s, in Seymour, to see Heather Stearn's son sing in a Led Zeppelin tribute band. Boy, can he sing!! Unfortunately, we had to leave at their break because Ian couldn't stay so we missed all the songs I know. It's ok, I'll definitely be seeing them again. They are called Presence CT.
What is up with all the missing children lately? It seems like one goes missing every single day that is posted that I see. It's scary. And shootings. Cops in Ansonia had to shoot a guy who was coming at them with a knife - they killed him. This was yesterday. A little while ago there was a shooting on 8th Street near where Lou used to live. I have no clue what is going on lately. :(

Three days into the new year and decade. Today I brought Margaret to get her eye checked. Then to pay the rent. Then we went to lunch and Walmart and Five Below and Rite Aid and Adams. Phew! No time or energy to do anything at home but take a short nap when I got back. I've been bringing Sam into work at 5:30 a.m. lately, which is fine, but does kind of leave me exhausted.

January 2, 2020
All is well - thank God!
Margaret came and got me and we went up to the surgical place. I waited there while she had her eye done. I drove us to my naturopath's to get my long-needed orthobiotics and GI repair powder. Then we went to IHop and came here. She was able to drive home from here.
I brought the car up the street -- there was enough air in the tire for that. The wonderful guy, Alex, only charged me $50 for the used tire and labor. I will be buying my new tires from him next month - only around $120 per tire including labor.
Then I went to Derby Public Library to register for the winter reading club. It's one of those stupid bingo's this year but I don't care if I win prizes. I just enjoy being a part of it and then the end party with Stacy's munchies.
Sam has been cleaning like crazy - her room and the living room. Hopefully she'll keep it that way. I've been working on my room and the kitchen a little at a time. I have nowhere to put anything.
And apparently nothing bounced this time around so I have a few dollars left over. Hope to keep it that way. I did work some overtime so my pay was a hundred or so more than usual.
That's it!!

Welcome January 1, 2020
A great start to the year. I went to 8:00 Mass at St. Mike's. Ended up receiving Communion from Sandy. It was a little awkward for me but ok. I miss hanging out with her. Just don't miss her toxicity. She was fun to be around and a good person except for that. And for wanting every Saturday of my life.
So then I bring Sam to work and stop for gas and going up the driveway I thought I totaled the car. I scraped the entire passenger side - both quarter panels and a little of the door, against the stone wall. It's ok though - very driveable. But no longer new. When I picked Sam up from work, a guy stopped me when I got out of the car. Pointed out that my back tire on the passenger side is almost completely flat. Got Sam and stopped at Midas Muffler. Guy put air in it and then showed me it's hissing out. Need to get a used tire for now but both Town Fair Tire and the place down the street are closed.
Should be interesting. Tomorrow (and Friday) I am off and now Margaret has to come to get me and drive us to her eye surgery and then drive me home. Argh!
Then Manny got pissed because I was taking stuffing off his face when he was playing with a toy and he bit me. He didn't break skin but my hand hurts like hell. He's not in good with me right now.
So the book I am reading right now is Wormwood the 17th book in Susan Wittig Albert's China Bayles series. I will try to remember to list them either like this or the old way.
I still think starting out the new year (and decade) by going to Mass was a great idea and hopefully I will continue going on Sundays and holy days.
