Feb 27 & 28

Forgot to post last night. Not that I ever post anything worthy of remembering. And that's why I do this, so I can remember things. Then I forget to put what I wanted to remember. *sigh*

The only thing I did after work yesterday was meet Chris for supper (Duchess) and then we went to MEATO at the CWV. Tony said the Elks want a booth at Derby Day and I think Sheila Parizzo does too, so I have to get them application info.

In a little while I'll run to the post office and cigar store, get gas and go pick up Sandy. We're going to the Seymour Public Library's book sale and then to downtown Seymour to eat at Tea with Tracy and then roam around there.

I have to meet Marc around 5 at St. Mikes for supper and then we're off to the hockey game!

There's a freaking stomach bug going around and I'm praying hard that I can avoid it. Bleh!

Had an amazing time with Marc tonight. We ate at St. Mikes - food was wonderful. But I absolutely LOVED the hockey game even though our team (Cornell) lost to Yale. It was SO much fun!!

Feb. 26

Had to scramble with Carol so her car doesn't get repossessed. The car that's in my name. She needed $500. I was going to get it from Anthony - didn't tell her. But she found someone to lend it to her. I will give her the money from my next paycheck and she will (hopefully) come up with it to pay me back before I have to pay April's rent.

Feb. 25

Today my baby sister is 54. I miss her.

Marc and I are going to eat at the Catholic War Vets on Saturday before going to the the hockey game. I'm very excited about this. I wonder if there will be a fight?

Feb. 24

Home. That's about it. Talked to Anthony for a few minutes. We might go out for supper Thursday night.

Feb 23 going to see hockey!!

Marc Weissman pm'd me and said he got the tickets for the hockey game on Saturday night -- Yale, I think. YEAH!! I'm going to get to go to my very first hockey game. :)

Was supposed to go see Teddy Roosevelt at the library but I was too cozy in the house and decided to stay in.

Feb. 22

The day turned out beautiful. It snowed all morning and then it melted and I got out for a bit. Cleaned the snow off my car and ran to the store.

Been in the rest of the day -- started knitting a shawl that should go really fast.

But now the roads are icy and there was an accident on the highway right next door. Car spun out and hit a neighbor's brand new work van.

If it's icy in the morning, I'm calling/texting Judy. I'm not taking chances.

Feb 21

It's snowing! I love this winter. A good old fashioned winter. Everyone else hates it. They should just move South!

Sandy and I went to the diner and then Walmart and the dollar store. That was it. 

I came home and baked monster cookies 

Feb. 20

So I figured out last night that the noise I thought was someone trying to get in the other night, was the cat trying to get into the closet. And I had that gun out and loaded so fast and Joel on the phone. LOL!! I will not tell any of them what happened. They'll think I'm insane. LOL!!

Feb. 19

Arlene and Tom's 38th wedding anniversary. I miss those days and everyone in them.

Feb. 18

My car got a clean bill of health. Yeah! And they only charged me for the oil change - $34. Raros is my new garage for sure.

Sitting here watching tv. Snow tomorrow but hopefully something I can drive in.

Feb 17

Back to work after four days off. I don't mind. I even drove myself in and it was snowing. The roads weren't bad so I went on my own. It cleared up by noon and the roads were dry coming home.

Feb. 16

Went to CVS and Shoprite and got some good deals. Then stayed home. Was supposed to go to the gym but got one of the worst cases of heartburn I ever had and decided to stay home.

Back to work tomorrow!

Feb. 15

Didn't step foot outside at all today. The wind was really bad so I stayed home. Baked banana bread for Monica, pumpkin bread for Joel and snickerdoodles for me.

Feb 14

Had no internet yesterday and most of today so I didn't feel like posting from the ipad and hotspot. Waited for the Frontier guy - really nice man. All is fixed. Have no couch. It wouldn't fit.

And it's snowing. Blizzard supposedly. I just don't want the winds they say we might get - 60 mph or more. I'm afraid my trash will end up on the highway!

Feb 12

Another day at work and flurries. Driving home in flurries is so beautiful. The roads were fine. Went to the Chinese buffet and picked up supper then came home and here I stay. Chris was too tired to go to the gym and I'm glad to stay here.

I'm off for four days -- our annual president's long weekend. Tomorrow I need to finish up my Chinese New Year's swap and get it mailed. I also need to deep clean the living room -- couch will be arriving between 3-7 p.m. - my Christmas present from Anthony. And while I'm at it, I want to scour the kitchen floor and neaten the kitchen. Phew!

But if I can accomplish all that tomorrow, I'll have a nice easy rest of the weekend!

Feb. 11

Work was good as usual. Came home and then to the gym with Chris and Marcia. That's it!

Feb. 10

Sammy Dove is 19 years old. I can't wrap my mind around that.

Went to work. Drove myself. Roads were fine. Tomorrow should be the same and then supposedly snow on Thursday. Friday through Monday I have off. Friday my couch is coming. Yeah!

Feb. 9

No work today. I'm going to text Judy for a ride in tomorrow. I didn't even go out and unbury my car.

Cooked some stuff. Crocheted. Talked to the cat. Watched tv. I don't mind staying home.

And I can't believe that Sammy Dove will be 19 tomorrow.

Feb. 8

Went to Mass and have been home every since. Mostly watched tv and took a nap. Don't know what the weather is going to do but I may end up calling Judy for a ride to work. I'll call at 6 to make sure I get her before she leaves home this time.

SCSU website says we have a delay until noon tomorow

Feb 7

Started out good. Sandy and I went to eat in Ansonia and hit up a few thrift stores there. It was snowing so we ended up earlier.

Then I went to MEATO and had a nice time there. Chris won. I didn't.

Came home to find out my online friend, Irene's son killed himself this morning. Hung himself in their basement laundry room. Last Saturday Davin's classmate killed himself. Today Nancy's daughter's friend killed himself. I don't understand. I don't want to understand. Irene is devastated, of course. What the hell is happening.

I promised her that I would receive the Eucharist tomorrow for him and her.

Feb 6

Woke up to what I thought was a flat tire - turns out the snow made it look like it.

So I went to Town Faire and bought four new tires. Obviously I didn't go to work

Chris and I went to the Elks for spare rib dinner -- it was great and there was so much I had to take half home

Maybe another weekend of snow.

Feb 5

Work and home and boy is it cold in my room. Better cold than hot. :)

Feb. 4

A normal work day and then possible snow tonight. A big snow storm predicted for Sunday through Tuesday.

Feb 3 Digging out

So the guys spent all day yesterday until late last night plowing and digging and they cleared around the sides of my car and all in front so another car could also fit in there if needed. Theoretically all I should have to do is drive straight out. Well someone plowed a mountain in front of my car and I had to struggle like crazy to get out and later back in. Laura and I shoveled.

Went to BJs and went to pay car taxes and went to the gym with Chris.

Edited to add -- how could I forget - miracl??s. When I went to pay taxes I saw that Timmy still had an outstanding tax bill from 1995 for $7. With interest it was $39 so I told them I'd pay it. They told me that after $15 years it's gone. So I called Timmy when I got home to find out how he's doing and joke about the taxes. HE'S IN REMISSION!!!!!!!!!!!! He's regenerating his own blood cells. God is answering our prayers. He's even being allowed to go back to work starting tomorrow.

Feb day 2

I'm losing track of what number day it is so I guess I'll do it this way. LOL!!

Anyway - what a day. The snow turned to a little rain and Joel and Billy plowed around the apartments AND they plowed out my car and the spaces behind me. And then ... it started snowing again. It's snowing like a son of a gun and yet no texts from work. Go figure. I know I'm NOT driving unless the road are really clear and Judy has a dentist appointment at 7:30 and might not even make it to work if she's still in major pain!

But I worked on my swap stuff - I hope to get it done by the end of the weekend so I can get it to my person by the 17th.

I found out that my federal refund came in three days ago on the 30th. I've been checking my Sikorsky account instead of Ion. Forgot I had it go there. So I ordered a wireless printer from Walmart to be picked up when it's in.

I cooked -- stuffed mushrooms and a corn casserole. I love corn casseroles! And since Joel did all that for me, I asked him what he'd like me to bake. He said his favorite is pumpkin bread -- that's in the oven now.

I even took a shower.

And it's barely 4 p.m.

I'm hoping like heck there's no work tomorrow. Or at the very least - a long delay.

Guess there's no women's group tonight. LOL!

Edited to say -- no work tomorrow. SCSU is delayed until 4:30 PM! That's the kind of delay I like!!

Day 32 -- almost started with day one again!

February 1 -- Ma's birthday. Hope she's having a great birthday in Heaven.

Went to Mass and then to the Elks for breakfast and then home. Made stuff for Superbowl and then Chris told me she was going to pay the $25 for wings and booze. I didn't bring anything because I felt stupid so I had popcorn and some fried mootz sticks. I did have three shots of Jack Daniels though. I think I'm immune to the alcohol in JD because I can drink it and feel perfectly normal. Too bad it's so expensive.

Came home at halftime -- the halftime show really sucked and I was bored to tears because I'm not into watching games on tv.

Oh and work has been called off for tomorrow!
