Eating

Went to the library tonight to see the Gettysburg thing. It was pretty interesting. The guy focused on a bunch of civilians in addition to some soldiers.

I don't think I'm doing all that well yet with Weight Watchers. I record most of the things I eat but I'm going over consistently. I have to focus a little better.

So now I'm going to eat some tortilla chips -- points for 11 chips. And southwestern style salsa -- free. And I'm already way over budget.

Ha! And I'm going to eat a Magnum bar. Ahhhhhh!!!!!!!

Pooped

I'ts only 3:30 and I'm exhausted. LOL!! I rolled 12 minis for the magic yarn ball exchange -- still have to make the big ball and mail it out no later than Wednesday. I always procrastinate!

Then I made stuffed mushrooms, cabbage, and chicken and broccoli. I have two eggs I'm going to devil and I want to make Fire Cider since I keep feeling like I have a scratchy throat.

Anyway this should be it for lunches for the week -- maybe suppers too.

Nice day

Sandy and I went to the Civil War thing at the Seymour Historical Society. Since it rained they mostly had a few things inside. I joined that Historical Society since we go there often and each time it costs me $5. Now for the $15 membership fee I can get in for free.

Then we went to Southbury and Woodbury and I got a bunch of stuff at the thrift stores. My downfall was the bead store -- I blew over $20 there. LOL!!!

Then I went down to the site of the Eco Fest to help clean up with Laura and Joel and Antonio and in a few minutes will be going to Laura and Joel's for pizza.

Wake

After work today Margaret picked me up and we went to Donna's mother's wake in Norwalk. We stayed for the whole time and everyone had a nice time and lots of laughing. It sounds odd but it really was a nice wake -- probably the nicest I've ever been to.

Came home and was too tired to go down to the Elks.

Looking up

For today. It was a good day.

Went to the administrative appreciate luncheon and sat with Lisa and Mickey and had a great time. The speaker was wonderful and gave us all signed copies of her book.

Came home and decided to call Comcast one more time. I now have something affordable and they cut my current bill way down.

AND I now have a beautiful storm/screen door and a clothesline. Well I'll have a clothes line once I buy the rope and Chuck will put it up. The one he used to put up the reels with is old and tattered.

Margaret is picking me up tomorrow after work so we can go to Donna's mother's wake.

Going to the BOA meeting with Laura in a fw minutes.

Flowers

Bob bought us flowers for administrative day. Tomorrow is the luncheon, which will be nice.

I felt quite grown up today when I went to the round table discussion at the aldermanic chambers. The Lieutenant Governor was very nice and the entire discussion was great.

A long day

Just got home from a cultural commission meeting that we could have had here or at Laura's. But it's a good thing we went downtown to the arts center because then we walked over to the Green and then drove over to the site where we're going to do the Eco Fest.

I am 138 pounds tonight. Down 3.5 pounds from last week, thank God.

At work today I got a call from Human Resources. She wanted to know when I started working at the university and if I started out as a clerk-typist or something else. I told her I was a UA for the first six months and that my full time start date was June 2, 2000. Then she wanted to know who I report to and I said Judy. Then she asked me if Missy reports to Paulette and I said  yes. I didn't ask her why. Wouldn't it be awesome if Bob is paving the way and Missy and I get upgraded to Office Assistant? I doubt it but it would be cool.

Tomorrow is the round table discussion at City Hall. Should be interesting.

Forgot to post

Had such a nice day yesterday that I forgot to post. I went to Cracker Barrell with Sandy and then to the Christmas Tree Shop. Then I went to Karla's to see my Anthony and my Sammy and everyone. Visited a little bit and came home. Then I went to Lindsey's for supper. And I talked to Carol and Laney Bug and Carol sent me a video of Laney singing a song she made up.

Today was work as usual and then Laura, Joel and I met with the Valley Shakespeare Festival people and hopefully will be helping them and they'll help us.

Great day

Except for breaking my tooth (crown) off again today -- just a few minutes ago.

Anyway I putzed around the house this morning then ran to get the papers -- but didn't buy any because there's no coupons this weekend. Came home and ate lunch. Called Comcast because my next bill is over $200. Seriously! Who knows how that's going to end up but it won't be with me paying that much, that's for sure! Took a nap then went to Chris's for Holy Saturday supper.

I don't think all Polish people do this but I want them to adopt me. Hopefully I'll be invited back every year. Their tradition is amazing and they're all great people. Mary Adzima came by there -- she and Chris' sister, Marsha, are great friends. And Linda DeRosa -- Chris' sister-in-law was there too. We had such a nice time.

Then I came home and broke my tooth. LOL!!!

Good Friday

Went and did laundry and shopped for the week so I'd have healthy food.  Then Rita came over and cut and dyed my hair. My hair just can't be Riversong's hair but it's a good cut and looks good.

Went to Chris's sister's for supper. Boy do they do Easter up good. They have wonderful traditions. Tonight was all fish and their family was there and me. And then they all colored Easter eggss -- the youngest there was 27 years old. How cool is that? She invited me over for Holy Saturday - they all do it up big again but with ham and kielbasa and potatoes. How wonderful that they include me. :)

Then we went to the Elks where I sat at the bar talking to some guy while Chris played pool with OB. OB seems to have a crush on her and all of a sudden doesn't bother to even say hello or goodbye to me. Oh well! I guess it's hard to be friends. Who knows!

Holy Thursday

I didn't do anything holy though. I went to Archie Moores with Chris after work and then to the Elks like it was a Friday. After Nancy left I pretty much sat by myself while Chris and OB played pool. OB barely talked to me. I think he's got a thing for Chris. LOL!!

Overweight

Dr. Jagadeesh is going to be pissed if I don't lose weight before I see her in July. I'm the highest I've EVER been. 141.6 today. Oh my God!! I found the Wii and set it up and did almost a mile on the Walk it Out. According to the thing I did .9 miles, 3327 steps, and burned 74.5 calories. The Fit says I've done 8841 steps so far today total. I rejoined Weight Watchers and will pretty much start on Monday. I'll be eating too much through Sunday to even think of starting before that.

Anthony is home already. Saw his picture on Facebook and called. They flew out of a different town so they were able to come home earlier.

Picked up my glasses and can see again.

Chris invited me to dinner at her sister's on Good Friday. Fish, fish and more fish!

That's it other than it apparently snowed in a bunch of places last night. It didn't snow here that I know of but my windows had about half an inch of ice I had to scrape off this morning..

No Uverse and 140.5 pounds

Got a voicemail. The signal is too weak at my area. Yeah, right. So I called yet again. Got a great woman right in New Haven who gave me to her manager who was wonderful and she said she will call me Thursday or Friday to see what's going on.

And oh my God I'm over 140 pounds. And I don't know why! I'm not exercising but I'm not pigging out and and I am hitting close to or over 5,000 steps a day -- Saturday was almost 10,000. I have got to do weight watchers and hook up the Wii and get going. This is NOT good!

Unbelievable

I'm not looking on purpose but I keep finding that Allen must have been telling me lies our life together. Right from when I first met him. One thing he always told me (I though it was Ma but why would SHE lie?) is that he was baptized by a bishop or archbishop. I just found his baptismal certificate that I had gotten for him back in 1988 -- don't know why I didn't think about it back then because I made up the certificate at work -- he was baptized by Fr. Testa who was a priest. Nothing more. I was stupid enough to believe in him always and to believe every word he said and to think he was the person who never lied.

And today was the Easter Extravaganza on the Green and we had well over 100 kids and lots of fun.

Good day

Started out by being down at the Riverwalk at 6:45 a.m. Helped out with the walk/run race. Then went to Sandy's and we went to Longhorn for lunch and then a bunch of local stores including St. Anthony's. I bought the two books on angels that the deacon recommended at the lecture.

Then Palm Sunday vigil Mass -- I do love that Mass and it always makes me want to start going to Mass again. Maybe this time I'll do it. We'll see.

Then home and I just want to crash.

A full weekend

Went to Duchess and the Elks with Chris. They were having a fundraiser for Maria's daughter who is running for Miss Connecticut and the also rented out the tables in the Antler Room which means there was nowhere for us to sit but the bar. So we went to the CWV. Had to leave early because I have to be up early tomorrow.

Have to be at the Riverwalk at 6:45 a.m. to help out with the 5K walk/run for battered women. Then to Sandy's so we can go to lunch and stuff. Then to Palm Sunday Mass and then out to eat supper.

Sunday is the Easter thing for the Derby kids and then Rita wants to cut and dye my hair.

Edited to say that I lost the post and had to rewrite it but didn't lose it after all.

A long weekend

Went to Duchess and the Elks with Chris and then to the Elks lodge. We didn't stay there very long because they'd rented out the front hall but also the Antler lounge so there was no where for member to sit. So we went to the CWV for awhile.

Came home early because I have to be down at the riverwalk at 6:45

After that I have to go get Sandy and were' going to lunch and shopping in Shelton then back to Ansonia to St. Mikes for the palm sunday service and then out to eat again.

Sunday Rita wants to cut and dye my hair.

Soooooooo tired

And I don't know why. I did find my dpns -- right in front of me on my dresser. DUH!

Came home from work, took a shower and ate and I'm down for the count. Exhausted. Can't wait until I can go to bed.

Tooth and more

So first I went to both libraries to give them fliers for the Easter Egg Hunt on Sunday. Then I went to the post office and to have my tooth fixed. That didn't take very long. Then off to work.

When I came home after work the money I left for Rich was gone and he'd taken the UI bill. Haven't a clue what he did but the closets were open. Whatever he did, I hope it lowers my electric bill because I sure as hell can't pay all that money and I don't use hardly any electricity. :(

Oddities

Called UI today and they say I've been using 22-23 kw hours a day since I turned on the electricity. I asked how that's possible since I wasn't here except for the last few days. They had no answer. Called Rich and he will come tomorrow to see what he can find.

My front tooth (crown) snapped off as I was eating supper so I have a 9:45 dentist appointment tomorrow. Then work and then the eye doctor. Hopefully I can afford both because I realized tonight that I can't see very well driving at night with my computer glasses. I lost the lens on my driving glasses. I can see to drive fine during daylight but apparently not in the dark.

We had a Cultural Commission get together tonight to  put together candy for the Easter Egg Hunt on Sunday. The drive home was not pleasant.

Back to the work week

Regular work week. But Mickey Rooney died. 93. How sad. Yet maybe Mommy will get to talk to him and Judy Garland now. How wonderful would that be?

A good day

Spent the day cooking for lunches/suppers for the week. I went to Big Y and bought a rotisserie chicken and made taquitos. I mixed all the shredded breast but only made one pan full. I'll cook the rest tomorrow. I made stuffed mushrooms and I made broccoli rabe. I put together my lunch for tomorrow so I'm all set.

Put away all my plastic containers -- the ones with covers. Put some books away and put a mess of my baking pans up on the top of the cabinets above the sink.

Planned out some of my Sandy time -- casino next month, Palm Sunday Mass next Saturday, Easter at Cracker Barrel. I don't know if Anthony will be home for Easter but if he is, maybe they can come down for some appetizers in the early evening.

Talked to Carol for a few minutes.

Finished reading Vanished, by Kat Richardson. Will be starting Bones are Forever by Kathy Reichs tomorrow.

All in all it was a good day!

Almost forgot

Almost forgot to post again tonight. Geez! Well I got up early and sorted all my plastic containers. Put containers with lids and now have to figure out where to put them. I went out with Sandy and then to Chris's and we walked down to the lodge for the Installation of Officers. Then came home.

That's about it.

slackin

I can't believe I haven't written a thing in days. I know there's really nothing to write but still!

On the second, Comcast came and gave me two dvrs so that's all working well. Not as good as uverse but it will do for now. Rich and Chuck also replaced the faucet and I also called ATT and talked to them. They still say there are issues but they'll keep me updated and instead of paying $89/month I will pay $69/month for a year. I think I wrote that my court meeting is next month. I'm nervous about that but what can I do?

Went over to Lauras and sat out at their picnic table last night and talked and sort of ate. No lights so I can't eat incase there's bugs crawling on the food. But it was nice.

Was supposed to go to the lodge with Chris but didn't feel well. Came home and slept and then rummaged in boxes for awhile. I found some stuff I didn't realize was missing.

Tomorrow is out with Sandy and then over to the lodge for Installation of officers.

Comcast tomorrow

I'm leaving work at ten and coming home to wait for Comcast. And they didn't come fix the sink today either. Poor Ruffio. At least my room isn't all crowded like at Rita's, but still.

So I worked and came home and that was that. I put away some stuff in the craft room -- onto the shelves. If I do a little a day I can hopefully at least get it all off the floor and then I can do a little sorting every day.

Here's a good one. I hate, hate, HATE checks and hate to use them. So I just got an email from Sikorsky saying I bounced a check. Well the only check I wrote was the rent. Of course it bounced. Why wouldn't it. If I had given him cash like I wanted to, it wouldn't have bounced. God, I HATE checks!
