Library night

Went to a talk at the library from the CT Women's Hall of Fame, on 300 years of women in the history of CT. Funny thing -- the Women's Hall of Fame is the one at Southern. LOL!! I came to Derby to see what is at work. Although at Southern they only have three and a half people in an office and no museum. But it was a really great lecture.

Mary Cate was there too with Tori and she wants me to tell her when the library has more programs.

And again Rich and Chuck blew me off so Ruffio was locked in a room all day for nothing. And I'll have to do it again tomorrow. As far as the water thing -- it's their loss, not mine.

Addicted to groceries

I bought more food. I know I'm not going to starve and yet I can't stop buying groceries.

Also went to Target and bought a mess of stuff and Rita and I brought over a really nice dresser that she had in Jeff's garage. I cleaned off the table and I'm ready for Ruffio to spend the day in my room tomorrow so they can come and fix the sink.

Once I get tv fixed I'll be one happy camper!!

Did I write that Anthony and Karla got a German Shepard puppy? I hope to go see her this week.

A puppy

Anthony called. He bought a pure bred German Shepard puppy today and it will live at Karla's. I can't wait to see her. He hasn't named her yet. I want a dog so bad but I plan on getting a rescue when the time is right.

Went to Seymour with Sandy this morning. We went to the library book sale and I caved and bought some books. At least two are for Carol so they weren't all for me!  Then we shopped at the little stores and of course I bought stuff at most of them. LOL!!

Spent the rest of the day at home with Ruffio. I did a little here and a little there but not much of anything. I did get the oven working so now I can bake if I want!

Tomorrow I'll clean the kitchen table off and mop the floor. Rich and Chuck are coming Monday to do the sink and I'll have Ruffio locked in the bedroom while I"m at work.

Well it turns out that xfinity screwed up. Neither of my tvs have dvr which is why I can't pause, etc. Grrr!!!

Amazing

So I ran into Evelyn at CVS after work and she asked me how Yvonne was doing. I said I hadn't seen her in awhile and she said how nice it was that Yvonne and Spencer got married. It was announced at the last meeting. WTF?

So I texted Yvonne when I got home and it's true. Whatever. I'm so over the fake friends and family stuff. I'll be me and people can be who they want to be and just pretend I don't exist. I really don't care.

Figured a little out

I figured out how to do stuff using the menu but I still don't know where you go to see recorded shows. I have found on demand shows so I can do some catching up. I'm watching Monday's Lost Girl right now. I'm soooooooo tired and am doing nothing. Poor Ruffio was locked in my room all day because I thought Chuck and Rich were coming to change the faucet. Well that didn't happen. Tomorrow I let him roam and pray that if they show up, Laura sees them and comes over and puts him in the room.

Up and running ... Sort of

Anthony bought me a beautiful tv for my birthday and brought it over. Then he and I and Karla went across to Smoke 'n Bones. I had already eaten but went anyway. Then the comcast guy come and got me back online and watching tv. But I can't pause live tv. Or watch on demand. I can only watch tv. Chuck our building repair guy came and fixed the deadbolt. Tomorrow he and rich are installing a new faucet.

All moved in

So Ruffio and I have been in the apartment since Sunday but without tv or internet. I have been using the hotspot but forgot to update here. I'm done with ATT -- waiting for a month with no results. Done!! Told them yesterday to cancel my order. I contacted Comcast and the'll be at the apartment this afternoon. I'm leaving work at 11 to see what I can get done.

The place is a total mess because I have too much stuff and too little kitchen. Plus I have to wait until the cable is set up so I can put stuff where it belongs.

Anyway I do love my little apartment. Ruffio is acting kind of weird. Hopping across the kitchen sometimes -- sideways in Halloween cat mode. And last night he was staring like there was someone there and then batting at the air at nothing. Oh well. Hopefully there isn't anything but God is with me so I'm not afraid. Plus I blessed it all with Holy Water and burned some sage.

Almost done

Spent an hour at the apartment this morning and then met Sandy. We went to Southbury and I bought a mess of stuff at Kmart. When we got back I went back to the apartment for several hours. ATT is not coming until who knows when but I'm moving in tomorrow. All I need is the mattress and what's in my room. My neighbor in back, Billy, said I can hook into his WIFI or I can try Joels. At least if I have internet, I'll be ok. I can watch some of my stuff online. I am excited to get in there. It's a mess but I'm fixing it up little by little. I think Ruffio will be happy to have more than one room too.

Friday

Went to city hall for the meeting with Laura, Joel and the mayor but Anita's secretary said it was canceled. Laura hadn't called me yet so I just texted her and went home.

Then Chris picked me up and we went to Archie Moore's and then the Elks. Vinny showed up so we sat at the bar with Darryl and OB. It was a good night all in all. Just got home a few minutes ago and will try to get up early enough to go to the apartment for an hour or so before going to meet Sandy. We're going to go to Southbury and Woodbury. That will be nice.

Thursday

So I met Judy Ackert at DD in Seymour and we went to Alberto's for supper. We spent a few hours talking. She's pretty nice.

Then I come home and of course there's more drama although she put it without saying "we have to talk." Yep, Rita's kicking me out from my room. She's going to try to get Uverse but I have to be out on the weekend. No notice as usual. Someone's coming to rip up the rugs. I realize I should have been out weeks ago but it would be nice to get some notice.

Well I am ready but I really want tv and internet. This is going to suck if I don't have tv and internet.

More moving

Rita and I took the last of the stuff except for the mattress and what's in my room. Tomorrow they're hopefully bringing the mattress and I have a huge mess in my apartment. I'm going to have to try to remember to call ATT tomorrow. Once they're in, I'll be all set.

Judy Akert called tonight. She has notes for me from the second half of the Angels and Demons talk from last week. We're going to meet at DD in Seymour tomorrow night for coffee.

Speaking

Chris is talking to me. She's just been busy. Judy was in work but Paulette was out sick so there was no tension today. Tomorrow should be the interesting part. We'll see.

A good day

Got up a little later than I wanted to but it was good to sleep until 9. Then I went to Big Y and spent $100, ugh! Went up to Karla's to get my Keurig and iron and a few other stuff and then we went to Friendly's for lunch. She bought my lunch for my birthday.

Went over to the apartment and got a few things done. Uverse called and now they're not coming out until at least Thursday or Friday. I won't be sleeping over there until I have tv and internet. But it's pulling together a little bit at a time.

Rita found all our old slides and I uploaded one box onto the computer. It was the summer of 1960 in Italy. I miss my parents.

Going to watch tv and then bed. Work tomorrow. Should be interesting

Chris didn't text me at all today and she didn't even wish me a happy birthday. Carol didn't either. Anthony called me and, of course, Diana called me before anyone. Denise didn't call me. This could be the first year she forgot. If she calls me later, I'll let it go to voice mail and call her back tomorrow. I'm so tired I probably wouldn't make any sense on the phone tonight.

Ok. Not only did Carol call, but Allena Rose sang to me. Oh how I miss them!

Winner!

Well I didn't win at Mohegan in the normal sense but I came back with only one dollar less than what I wnet with. And that's only because I gave the waitress a three dollar tip. I'm actually two dollars aheaed of when I left here. God hearars and answers prayers. Yeah!

And now maybe Chris is a little upset with me. I keep forgetting that everyone else can have an opinion or post facts but I really shouldn't. Especially if I feel strongly about something. I will never think the movie Titanic is a love story or something that should ever have been made. Sorry people but they took a horrible tragedy and made it into a sappy love story? Not in this lifetime. You post something about that movie and I will tell the truth about it. Oh well!

Missed a night

Forgot to post again last night after I got home from the Elks. Chris and I went to the diner and then to the lodge and that was it. I didn't go to the apartment since there was no time.

This morning Sandy and I went to the Irish flag raising in Ansonia. Afterward they sent us all to Antonio's for corned beef sandwishes. Then we roamed around downtown Ansonia and then into our separate cars and home. I went to Duchess to get some food and then to Chri's for an hour.

Tomorrow we go go to Mohegan for the day.

Great lecture

Went to the apartment after work and spent an hour cleaning and trying to put stuff in their place. I still have a ton to do but no reason I can't do it there except I'm still waiting on cable and internet.

Plus I'm going to Foxwood overnight with Sandy on Sunday so Ruffio needs to be here.

Faxed some stuff to the lawyer. Now they're saying our last bankruptcy wasn't over even though we paid everything back. Well let them do what they have to do.

Went to a great lecture at St. Anthony's Gift Store by the deacon at Good Shepard. It was all about angels. He's doing demons tomorrow night but I promised to go out with Chris. Cathy, the store owner, says he'll probably do the whole thing again because lots of people couldn't make both.  It was fantastic.

Another day :)

Work was ok - a little weird. Different people approached me asking what the hell happened yestereday and I told them what I could. Paulette was sweet as pie and aplogized to me and Missy for her behavior yet called Judy a bitch to someone else. Judy got an earlier flight to Florida and left today instead of tomorrow to avoid the alleged storm we're supposed to get tomorrow. And it's raining and washing away all the snow. Dirty snow though so it's ok.

Almost there

Rita and Tony brought most of my furniture to the apartment plus whatever she had in the Blazer. The apartment is packed with stuff but it almost has all I need to move in. Yeah!

Library night

Went to work but didn't go to the apartment afterward. Went to the library for the end of the Winter Reading Program. I love my library.

Daylight saving time

I don't think it saves anything. Wish they wouldn't mess with the times of day.

Spent some time at the apartment. Wish they'd get moving on getting my furniture out of storage and into the apartment.

Apartment and shopping

Spent most of the day at the apartment trying to do what I can without furniture. And some more of the day at some stores getting stuff for the apartment. And a new laser light for Ruffio.

Normal Friday with a plus

Went to Chris' for a bit. Her sister had a jewelry dem. She knew we weren't going to buy anything but we went anyway. Then we went down to the Elks.

Sword fighting practice has begun and I saw Shane, Adina and Chris as they were leaving. We talked for a little bit -- me, them and Jim Miron. It was so nice to see some of the 'oldies'. I do miss them.

Just another Friday

Went to work. Forgot my coffee home. Had to buy coffee at the gas station. Came home and that's it. :)

Cosmic

Went to work today. Bob wants Judy to look over my time sheets to see how often I'm sick on Mondays because I was sick two Mondays in a row. Oh well. I can't choose the days I'm sick.

Donna is living in Norwalk now and swung by to pick me up for our first Cosmic meeting in months. It was interesting.

Carol got married!

She and Anthony did it on Carol's lunch break. I hope they have forever love. I'm so happy for them.

I didn't sleep all night so called in sick. I'm calling in tomorrow too.

Wednesday they're coming to turn on the gas -- that got a little screwed up so it didn't stay on and get transferred like it was supposed to. I brought a bunch of stuff over there today and supposedly Tony will bring the furniture that's in storage over tonight.

Oh and keeping to Cota tradition, Carol and
Anthony got married today, on Tom Greco Sr., birthday. LOL!!

Sunday was busy

Woke up around ten -- later than I intended. Ran out to Big Lots to meet Laura and Joel. We had a donation table set up for our Easter Egg hunt. Stayed there until 3:30. I did pick up some stuff there as they were having their 20% off sale. Got more things for the apartment and litter and food for Ruffio. I keep forgetting about that store. They're prices are good without the sale prices.

Then I went over and dumped stuff off at the apartment and came back here to cook mac and cheese with ham.

Now I'm relaxing.

We did NOT get even one snowflake today and they kept saying it was going to be bad. I miss Dr. Mel. He was a real meteorologist, unlike these people who don't know what they're doing.

Another Elk night

I went over to the apartment and Joel measured windows for me. I brought about five bags of stuff. Then I went to Home Depot and bought blinds. I also went to Tea with Tracy and bought tea for the exchange and mailed that out. I'm really doing this move, little by little but I AM doing it. And I'm going to like being there. It's still grungy in parts so I've got some cleaning to do but it was much, much worse when I first saw it. Ruffio is going to love it. And except for being right on the highway, which I'm learning to deal with every day, I'm going to love it too.

I went to Walmart and bought a new laptop. So spare money is now gone. But this one's keyboard stopped working and I have to use a plug in keyboard. It's given me four good years and I'm grateful for that.

So that was my day. Tomorrow I'll do what I can bringing stuff over there. And maybe, just maybe, Tony will bring the furniture stuff. Joel was going to help me but Tony said he'd do it. No matter, it has to get done. I won't be over there until I get Uverse and internet and there's a little problem with that. So I'll take it slow.

It may or may not snow tomorrow night into Monday. and that's the story. Oh yea, Chris and I went to the Elks to MEATO. She won. I didn't.

And today is my 44th anniversary.
