Day 31

Went out with Sandy since the day was fine other than cold and windy. We went to the Seymour library book sale. Saw Marc Weismann there and he's got the tickets ordered for the hockey game and will let me know what's what.

Picked up a few books for myself and two for Carol

Then I went down the Elks to help with the blind vet's dinner but found out it had been canceled due to something happening at their place. So I stayed and Dave the plumber bought me three shots of JD. After that wore off I came home.

Down there again tomorrow after Mass for breakfast, then home to make myself some Superbowl munchies and back to the lodge for the Superbowl.

But we have a storm warning beginning at 7 p.m tomorrow night - heavy snow. Accumulation up to 14 inches over night. So who knows? Maybe no work Monday. If there IS work, I'm calling Judy for a ride!!

I really do love winter!

Day 30

Woke up and decided to stay home from work. I was feeling a teeny bit crappy so I wasn't lying when I texted Judy.

Stayed in all day and baked some stuff, watched tv and crocheted. Then went to the diner for supper with Chris and Marcia.

Home now!

Day 29 -- Family

Anthony, Karla, Kayla and the dog, Molly came to supper. I made Shepherd's Pie and they loved it. There was barely anything left for them to take home. And they stayed and visited for several hours. I love my family. I am so blessed.

Wednesday, January 28, 2015

Day 28

Back to normal. We went in at 10 a.m. Roads were clear, thank God. That's it.

Tuesday, January 27, 2015

Day 27 - snow day

The giant blizzard was the blizzard that wasn't so giant. Lots of snow but it was light and deep. I slept in until 9 a.m. or so and then did all kinds of stuff. Watched tv. Knit. Read a little. Cooked my pork chops, cooked my wings, fried corn, roasted cauliflower, I stayed in pajamas all day.

Tomorrow we are on delay until 10 a.m. I believe that Joel and Billy shoveled out my car so I should be all set.

Monday, January 26, 2015

Day 26 - snow

It's going to be a blizzard. We worked until 11 and we're off tomorrow and maybe Wednesday. Our guys are spending the night at work. Maybe two nights. I had Judy pick me up and drive me home. Good thing because it did start snowing before we left work. It slowed down and even stopped once or twice since then but now it's snowing so that the highway is covered.

When I got home I covered my car with a tarp so cleaning off won't be as bad as it could be. The governor declared a state of emergency and said no one should be on the roads after 9 tonight. They're saying this could be worse than 2013 and that was pretty bad. I remember Anthony's road wasn't plowed for a week! We'll see.

Thank God I have this gas and gas stove in case we lose power. And I have plenty of food. Brooky is still in Naugatuck. I told Diana it would be better if she were there during this storm. So it's just me and Ruffio and we're nice and cozy.

Sunday, January 25, 2015

Day 25 - snow?

Went to Mass and then the laundromat and then Stop & Shop and then Shoprite. The dog is still in Naugy so it's just me and Ruffio.

Came home and made two thirds of the Shepard's pie -- got the meat done and in the bottom of the pan and the corn on top of that. Put it in the back room since it's almost refrigerator cold back there. If I can make room in the fridge, I'll stick it in there tomorrow. I'll do the potatoes when Anthony says he's coming down.

They are calling for a potential 20" of snow starting tomorrow around 1 and ending sometime Tuesday. I'm sure we'll get a day or two off. I already called Judy and she's picking me up in the morning. I'll have Mike Tucker's birthday cake -- that's cooling. All I have to do tonight is make the frosting.

I want to put a tarp over my car but as usual Joel/Laura never replied to my voicemail. I'm so over that bullshit. I asked if Joel could call me so he can advise me on doing it or help me. How long could it take - 5 minutes of their precious time?

Anyway I also tossed a ton of plastic containers because I like the new Ziplock ones and have a mess of them. Hopefully I'll have a little extra storage room! LOL!!

Saturday, January 24, 2015

Day 24

A stay at home day. It snowed last night and rained some so it was a stay home day. I made dough for bread and it's in the fridge. If I have a spare minute tomorrow, I'll make myself some bread.

I worked on coupons and watched tv and tomorrow will go to Mass, the laundromat, Stop & Shop, Shop Rite and come home and bake Mike Tucker's cake for work on Monday. I also hope to bake some bread and make the shepherd's pie for whenever Anthony and Karla and Samantha come down.

James came and took Brooklyn for overnight today so tonight's going to be strange being without my cuddling dog.

Day 23 - money and babies

So yesterday's pay had my annual increase -- $750, out of which I got $400. I'd forgotten I get that in the first paycheck in January. Don't know what it's for but I won't complain. I caught up on my bills with it. Except for the rent which I was going to put the rest in with my next paycheck.

Guess I don't have to -- I checked my Ion balance because I got gas using that card - I get cash back. But instead of the $500 minus the gas, that should be in in there, There's $753 - enough for the rent. My State refund came in already. YEAH!!

Lindsey finally posted on Facebook. She and Bryce are having a baby boy and are due in July.

Day 22 - a good one

Not that there have been any bad ones! But this is the first alderman meeting that I actually felt like something positive is possible for Derby Day and the Eco Fest. We'll see.

Wednesday, January 21, 2015

Day 21 - Ouch!

Worked as usual. Got most of my stuff done - had a little problem with Excel which better have fixed itself overnight!

THEN we went to the gym. We did the 30 minute circuit - every other thing was step stuff and I have no coordination so that was nuts. THEN we did chest -- that consisted of lying on a ball lifting weights. That's mainly where the ouch comes in.

I'm going to be so sore tomorrow!

Tuesday, January 20, 2015

Day 20

Back to work but that's ok. For most of the times I do love my job. :)

H&R Block sent me an email saying the IRS has accepted my Federal Return so I'm on the way to getting caught up. Yeah!

Going to the gym soon. Was going to go to the fiber arts thing at the Nature Center but I just want to do the gym and come home tonight. Maybe next week I'll do both.

Monday, January 19, 2015

Day 19

What a day! I spent most of the day cleaning - I thought I had most of it done yesterday but today was a LOT more. And I still have more to go. Geez! But it was good enough for company in the kitchen, bathroom and living room anyway.

Then I ran to Shoprite for dog food and stuff and across to meet Chris and Ginny at the gym. I could only do 15 minutes on the treadmill and then ran home to be here for the meeting.

We had a full house -- Laura, Joel, Angela, the baby, Monica, Antonio, who brought his mother, Nick, Timmy and an hour or so late, Susan and Ian. And we all ate and sort of had a meeting and just had a nice time.

And Nick set up both my Wii AND the Roku stick. YEAH!

Sunday, January 18, 2015

Day 18

I didn't go to Mass -- the steps and sidewalk were a sheet of ice. I didn't go to the gym - wasn't going out for anything. Spent the day cleaning and have a ton to go but it's set for our cultural commission meeting, sort of. I stopped when Laura decided it's too yucky to have a meeting and postponed until tomorrow night.

I'm off tomorrow so I'll be able to get the house 100% ready. Living room is fine. Kitchen needs a little more neatening and then the kitchen and bathroom floors need washing.

I'd like to do my room too but that's really reaching. LOL!!

Am going to the gym with Chris at 5 so I'll just do 1/2 an hour on the treadmill and get  back here in time for the meeting.

Saturday, January 17, 2015

Day 17 no gym

We were going to go to the gym today after 4 but Chris and I didn't want to go. We're going tomorrow after I get out of Mass.

I went to the Sassafrass diner with Sandy and then Common Bond. I LOVE that store! Bought raw milk so we'll see how that works out for me.

Friday, January 16, 2015

Day 16

No gym tonight. I was supposed to go to the union holiday thing and Chris just didn't want to go. We're going at 8 a.m. tomorrow so I can still make it to do whatever with Sandy.

I had key issues -- locked myself out again last night and had to have Chuck open my door. The keys I gave Laura and Joel are wrong. This morning my keys stayed in the house while me and the lanyard went out. Went and got Joel so he could jimmy the front door open. Oh my God! I'm sick of key issues!! LOL! Went to get extras made at Home Depot after work, and a spare car key. Then the car would turn over, start and shut off. Called AAA. Then Raro's. Then realized it was the new key. When I used the old key, the car is fine. Unbelieveable!!

Anyway I had called Micky and Rich and told them I couldn't go because of car issues and didn't want to call back and say yes, I'm going so I'm going out with Chris. And Tom just called so he'll probably meet up with us later.

Well I'm back. We went to Duchess and then to the CWV. Tom didn't show up. I worry about him and his drinking. Ginny and Pete came - it's Ginny's birthday -- and we had a nice time. I even had a beer tonight for the first time in a long time. :)

Thursday, January 15, 2015

Day 15 - Day 2 of torture

LOL!!! I am in pain. We did half an hour on the treadmill. 1.5 miles in 30 minutes. And now I'm home hurting. LOL!!

Tomorrow is out because I'm going to the union holiday party.

Wednesday, January 14, 2015

Day 14 - Day one of Planet Fitness

I'm sore as heck but we did it -- I went to Chris' sister's for supper and the three of us met up with Ginny at the gym. We did the treadmill for half an hour and then a half hour ab class. Ouch!

Edited to add that I'm starting out at 149 pounds as far as I know. So I'll try to check weekly to see my status.

Tuesday, January 13, 2015

Day 13

Went to Lisa's dad's wake and then to the subcommittee meeting. I got so upset at that meeting that I walked out. They're going to screw Derby Day and the Eco Fest.

Monday, January 12, 2015

Days 11 & 12

Missed day 11!! Oh well. It was normal

Went to Mass then came home and made chicken wings and green beans and boiled some eggs and, in general, getting ready for the work week. At noon I went to Sandy's and we went to work at the Historical Society. Had a nice time there. Then with Laura and Joel to the Center for a Cultural Commission meeting. Next meeting will be here and pot luck -- this Sunday! So I have a LOT of cleaning to do.

Today was an icy day and I had to drive Judy home after work. Then I went down to see about getting my tired fixed. I have to go back tomorrow around 12:30-1:00. Tonight I have to miss Stacy's cooking demo at the library and go with Sue instead to a Police Commissioner meeting.

Tomorrow I'm supposed to go to the gym with Chris but that's not going to happen because Lisa Horelick's dad died and I have to go to the wake and then we have a subcommittee meeting to go to.

My life is full!

And today of course would have been Allen's 61st birthday. I can't even imagine him that age. I miss him so much. How sad that it's been so long and I still love him so much, eh?

I ended up going to the library because the meeting was at 6 p.m., not 6:30 like we thought and I couldn't get a hold of Sue. She ended up going anyway, late and by herself.

Saturday, January 10, 2015

Day 10

The month is flying by. Winter is hear -- at least the cold is. Sandy and I went to Southbury and up that way to the thrift stores and then came back down and ate at the Irish restaurant in Seymour.

I was going to go to 4:00 Mass but my tire was awfully low. So I called Chris to come with me so she could  put air in my tire. I will have to get that fixed on Monday. I hope they can do it then after work!

Then I went to meet Joanne in Seymour for pizza and we talked and talked. I can't believe Bobby's dead. I also can't believe he died at the same age Allen did. For some reason I always think of him as way younger.

Friday, January 09, 2015

Day 9

The started out with nothing and then by 8 am we had almost a blizzard and by 10 it was over and by noon the roads were clear. Wonderful New England weather. LOL!

Chris and I went to the new Panera's on Perishing Drive for supper and then to the Elks.

Now I'm home and ready for bed.

I have a full weekend -- tomorrow is out with Sandy and doing her birthday lunch. She wants to go to one of the diners on Rt 67. Then tomorrow night to meet Joann at the pizza place in Seymour. Sunday is Mass then the historical society and then a cultural commission meeting.

Phew!!

Thursday, January 08, 2015

Day 8

Stopped by Rita's to pick up some mail that went there. She told me Lindsey's pregnant. 12 weeks on Monday. She's not supposed to tell anyone until then -- until she's past the danger time. I don't know that there's any safe or unsafe time. But I do know I'm going to be a great aunt all on my own. I just wish everyone would make up with everyone else so we could be a real family again.

Wednesday, January 07, 2015

Day 7

Cold. Cold. Cold. At least it is now and will be in the single digits overnight. Wind chill might make it below zero. Unfortunately I have no heat at all in my bedroom so I'm trying to improvise. Have a little space heater going until I go to bed and will have to turn it right back on in the morning. No way is it staying on overnight.

Schools are closing or delaying already for tomorrow. We're not in session so I'm sure there will be no delay or closing for us. As long as my car starts and runs, I don't mind.

Tuesday, January 06, 2015

Day 6

I don't know if I need to work on my issues or don't have issues to work on. I do not like people making fun of me or the things I say or think or believe. And Chris is getting on my last nerve. Honestly, if you don't want to hear what I have to think about something, or believe then don't ask me. I'm tired of this. Tina at work was the same way. Screw them. The issue I have to work on is getting pissed. But if I don't get pissed and show it - although I try to be nice about it -- then they will continue as if it was ok.

It's not.

Monday, January 05, 2015

Day 5

Today is Tony's birthday. I texted him but he never replied. Typical.

Went to the Women's Group at the library. Again it was me and one other person aside from the facilitator and the library director. I don't see this going very far. Sad.

Days 3 & 4

Forgot to post yesterday. Sandy backed out of going out because of the impending storm. So I went and did my regular stuff and then took a ride to Hamden to use my Kohl's cash. The hiking boots I ordered Friday, came in yesterday, believe it or not!! So I'm pretty set for hiking and for exercising. I bought some exercise clothes at Kohls and a sports bra at Walmart. We'll see how well I do.

Today I slept in and didn't go to Mass. Not cool, I know. I did finish up a ball shaped ornament that I had started months ago. I also worked on a pretty little folk art angel. I tossed a few things and put all my mini's together.

Joel and I went across the street and put air in my tire. I have to remember to stop at Raro's and have them test the tire. I hope they can just put a plug in it and I don't have to buy a new one. Although he did say I could get one for $100. I just really wanted to wait until taxes come in.

Brooklyn will likely be leaving in a week or so. Maybe less. I WILL miss her.

Friday, January 02, 2015

Day two

Work was very quiet. Just me and two others were there and spread out.

Came home and got to stay home. Chris is at her elderly cousin's wake. So I made rice krispie treats finally. And am watching The Artful Detective. I'm finally on season 5 and have several seasons to go afterward.

Sandy decided we should postpone her birthday lunch tomorrow because it's supposed to snow and rain beginning around noon. So I'll go do my post office thing and pick up animal food and newspapers and I'll also go to Hamden to Kohls to spend my Kohls cash. I want to buy a sports bra. I ordered hiking boots from Bob's today.

This will be the year I get active! (I hope!)

Thursday, January 01, 2015

Day one

What a great day. I hope the rest of the year goes as wonderfully as today. :)

Went hiking with Susan and Ian and their dog and we had a nice hike up in Monroe. The Paugassett Trail. We only walked up about an hour and turned and headed back but it was really great.

I cleaned out my baking cabinet - first step in getting my house together. Hope to do at least 15 minutes a day.

Work tomorrow.

I want to hike more. :)
