Kansas City and Mundy

We did a trolley tour of the city that we should have done when we got here. Went by a ton of places that I want to come back and see. We had lunch at Harvey's from the original Harvey's that the movie The Harvey Girls came from.

We went to the festival and managed to sit in the front row. And afterwards we met and talked to Mundy. Sandy told him we were going to see him in Hudson Valley. If we do, it will be fun. He's definitely a good entertainer.

I do need to come back here. There's lots of history!

Food and fun

We went back to the casino for the breakfast buffet and played a bit.  I think I broke even today. We roamed around and we went to Union Station to see what's there. And then we sat in the lobby for an hour or so. Foods been great!

What a day!

Left Sam and the cat at 4:15 this morning and am just slowing down. We went from Bradley to  Chicago and from Chicago to Kansas City Missouri. They had to put a new lock set on our room door. We went to Harrah's casino and we're now crashed at the hotel.

Soon. I have to hit the bed soon and be up by 4:15. I have to be at Sandy's at 4:30. We're heading on out!

I picked up Sammy and she's all ready settled in. She's sleeping on the recliner tonight and can have the bed when I'm gone.

When I come back I will be taking Diana's dog, Brooklyn until they get the house they are buying. JT is a drunken ass and they have to move. So she and the girls are moving in with Michael and Big Mike is moving into Karla's and Carla is doing nothing. How sad. But Brooklyn doesn't get along with dogs so I'm taking her. She supposedly get's along fine with cats. I hope so!!!

Sammy Dove and The Artful Detective

Sammy will be house and cat sitting. She doesn't start work yet and she broke her foot. Geez!!

I can now watch The Artful Detective gain. Love that show! I couldn't get Ovation on Comcast but I have it back now.

Uverse YEAH!

So I have Uverse again. I'm sooooooooo happy!! The guy came around 1:00 and hooked it up in both rooms. Actually the little tv can be moved around from room to room because I've got the wireless thing.

I'm actually sitting in my living room watching my big tv. :)

Now I have to see if The Walking Dead is online because I lost half the third season and all of the fourth. But that's ok -- I have Uverse!

Another fantastic day

So I went to Yvonne's and we went to the Trumbull mall for lunch. We ate at the Cheesecake Factory and they have so many choices you actually get a book instead of a menu. I had a smokey bacon bbq burger. Then we checked out Teavana which was not impressive at all.

On the way home I stopped at Goodwill and found the most awesome corner shelf thing - sort of like a baker's rack but not -- for only $6. Of course I bought it.

Just talked to Karla and Sam got hired at Friendly's in Naugatuck. Her first job. She's all grown up for real now.

Fantastic day

Donna, Margaret, Margaret's Dad, Pete, Greg and I went to the CT Horror Fest. What fun we had. I saw Jason from Friday the 13th and Michael Meyers and Michonne's pets from The Walking Dead - got pictures of them signing autographs. I got my picture taken with T-Dog from The Walking Dead and John Zaffis. T-Dog is a very nice man and gave me a big hug and talked with us a bit. John was excited to see Donna again and talked to us for a bit and later came and talked to us some more when he saw us outside.

All in in all it was a great day!!

So did I mention I'm going to the RI Comic Con with Margaret on Nov. 1? Oh my God -- almost the entire cast of Star Trek -- the original Star Trek. Allen would have so loved this one. Chewbacca. William Katt. Two walking dead people. Artie and Pete from Warehouse 13 and lots more. I don't know if it will be as easy to get pictures with them as today was but I am so exited anyway.

No trust

So we had a sit down at work today. They blind-sided me. Missy and Judy. Missy's been in a snit because I told her (she said) that she should have checked the mail and stuff like that. She says all I do all day is go in Pinterest and text and then ask her to help. I have never asked for her help since they said she's not to do work orders. She has tons of her own stuff to do. If she asks me I say sure if you want to but that's it. When the mail comes she runs out with her letter opener and attacks it. I don't say a word. Even when she sorts it wrong.

Whatever. They made me cry and that is the last time ever that that will happen. I am totally in charge of work orders and mail. Which is what it should have been anyway. I do know that we ended on a good note but I will never ever ask her for help with anything and I'll not share any of my life unless she asks and very little at that. I've lost all faith in friendship.

Going to the Elks and then to the horror fest tomorrow with the other 'friend'. She can't be bothered to leave Norwalk early so we can get to the fest when it starts. And then she got all uppity -- you all go and have a good time. And of course I did my soothing thing but I'm getting so tired of everyone's dramatics.

Can I just stick with my volunteer stuff and forget about friends? I wish. And Chris is all snotty tonight because she doesn't want to do her job.

I've got to learn to keep my mouth shut and just zone out when everyone's drama shit goes on. I am getting not happy and I don't want that.

Left the Elks at 8 and came home to take Midnight, Laura's dog, out. She's such a sweetheart. I'm pretty sure there was a skunk on the porch though so I had to leave and then go back.

Just a happy day

Ruffio woke me up this morning because I'd left my phone in my pocketbook in the kitchen. So I got to work at 8. Oh well!

Then the doctor's office called to say all my tests came back good. Did I mention they called from the breast center to say my mammo was perfect? That was last week.

Then the chiro and that was good and then home.

Oh Carol had Laney call me but that could have been yesterday.f

Another great concert

Two nights in a row -- first FB Lily last night and tonight we saw the Bernadettes on the Ansonia little Green. I talked to Jimmy about pricing - they're $1,000 (eight members) and he said he'd LOVE to do the Derby Green again. Now to convince Laura or to come up with the money myself!

I left work early and came home and cut my own hair. Didn't come out all that bad! Then met Laura at City Hall to talk with the Beardsley Zoo guy but he never showed up. We talked with Anita for almost an hour waiting for him. Oh well!

I love my life. I love my town. I'm so glad God put me here. Of course I love God too!

Comcast sucks

I went to ATT and got my iPhone 5 today. The kid says I can get UVERSE. I hope so. They're supposedly coming Monday. We'll see.

Comcast is giving me issues, as usual, tonight.

FB Lily was the band on the Green tonight. They are freaking awesome. For a minute there I thought I saw Allen. Then they ended with Sweet Caroline. And I come home and Butch and the Kid is on. Do you think maybe he was thinking about me tonight?

Doing good

I've actually been posting on this blog thing often. I know I have had nothing to say, but at least I'm doing it.

Tonight was the library's end of the Summer Reading program's appetizer thingy. As usual, Stacy made yummy munchies.

Another one

Stayed home this beautiful day and cooked and cooked like last week. So once again I have a week's worth of wonderful lunches and probably suppers. I also went through one box of papers -- that's a huge job -- all the papers all over the place.

I want this place completely neat and organized as I can get it before we go to Missouri in two weeks.

Glorious day!

What a day I had today. Sandy and I went to Niantic to The Book Barn. There are now FOUR locations because they keep growing. We went to all four. The main one, of course, is the most whimsical and picturesque and has nine cats and a pregnant goat. Love it all.

We ate at a place across from the downtown 'barn' and ate out on the upper deck overlooking the ocean.

I bought 20 books, but to be honest, a big bunch were for Carol.

Came back home and we had a cultural commission meeting on the Green. I love meeting on the Green. Then I saw Teddy going by in his aqua car -- he circled around and came back and gave me and Ian a little ride on the river. What fun!!!

I had a blessed day today!!

Book Barn

Sandy and I are going to the Book Barn and to Abbott's Lobster in the Rough tomorrow. It's going to be so much fun!!

Went to the Dew Drop for wings -- YUM and then to the Elks. I came home at 8:30.

Called Donna to see if she wants to move the Cosmic meetings to the Elks. I don't see why we can't do that!

A regular day

Went to work. Went to the chiropractor. Came home and am watching more Walking Dead. That's about it for today.

Concert on the Green

Spent the day all over the place. Went to Griffin and had labs done and bone density and mammo. Got a call that the mammo was 100% perfectly negative. Love that kind of news.

Went to Big Lots to buy a few things and Stop and Shop too.

Then Anthony came over so I could give him his birthday gift -- I got him Lucy Lavin's book on CT's Indigenous People. He loved it. I can't believe he's going to be 35. Then we went to the bank to deposit money he had to give me before Nationwide comes out tomorrow.

Tonight was the concert on the Green. Teddy, Brenda's ex-husband was there and we talked for awhile. Mayor Anita came at the end and said we really have to have a meeting. I'm glad because the subcommittee meeting the other night was horrible!! 

Meeting and newspaper

The article about the Ferrara murders was on the front page of the Register today. I was quoted along with Roseann and Joe Musante. I can't believe it's been 25 years.

Robin Williams is dead and so is Lauren Bacall. He killed himself. I still can't believe it.

Went to a subcommittee meeting tonight. Found out that Pam Ortiz is our lieson for the Cultural Commission. Laura and Joel are not happy.

Off tomorrow -- tests all day - labs, bone density, mammo and dentist.

Robin Williams is dead

Oh my God! That wonderful entertainer who made so many people laugh, has killed himself. What sorrows could have been in him? We were supposed to meet him and his wife all those years ago at Charlton but their plans got changed. Nanu nanu, Mork.

And Sunday too

Stayed home and cooked a bunch of stuff. Cleaned off the table -- put all the papers on the floor. The table HAS to stay cleaned off. I can't deal with it.

And I cleaned the sink counters.

Made a shrimp scampi dip. YUM! Took a rotisserie chicken and took the wings for lunch tomorrow along with stuffed mushrooms that I made. Took the rest of the chicken and made two individual chicken and broccoli casseroles and shredded the rest and mixed it with Mexican seasoning and made myself a  quesadilla for lunch.

Finished the crocheting on the last chameleon and now I have to sew the three of them together.

Started a few rounds of the sorting hat for Allena.

Saw that Anthony and the whole crew are having a pool party at Diana's. I made it clear that I'm not happy anymore. I don't get invited to anything and I'm not going anymore. I'm an afterthought so they can just stop thinking about me. I'll call when I need bill money. I told Di to tell Ant I need to see him for five minutes this week to give him his birthday present. I'm done. Really.

A beautiful Saturday

So far we've had a glorious summer -- not too hot at all. Today was beautiful and I went to Judy's father's funeral Mass at Good Shepard in Seymour. Of course I got lost along the way. LOL!! But it was a beautiful service.

Then I picked Sandy up and we went to The Pantry to eat. It's SUCH a yummy place. Afterward we went to the Seybridge Plaza and then downtown Seymour. Then I came home and worked on the August card swap for TOK. We've actually got our people matched and pms out on time.

Now I'm going eat a cookie, watch a little tv and go to bed.

Holy Rosary

After work Chris and I and Chris' friend Paula met up with Chris' friend Phil and went to the Holy Rosary fest. Saw Andy there and he was with a woman who very well could be his girlfriend. It's ok, really but very strange. Gina's been gone a little over a year, her birthday will be in two days. And he was devastated and now he seems happy again.

Then who do I see but Seb so I had him introduce me to his wife. And his dad was there and he's still the same old Mr. Fama. Wonderful!!

Got Seb and Andy together and I even took a picture of the two of them.

It was a nice night.

Meetings

Great meetings at city hall tonight. I love my life. Thank you God.

Cosmic

We finally had a meeting. It went well. Margaret bought me a beautiful Dr. Who print that I'm going to keep in my cubicle at work. And she's going to the RI comic con so I asked her if I can go with her. :)

Got my tooth back on

Went to the dentist and they put my crown back on that fell off in May. They said they have to do a new one so that will be next week.

Went to the concert on the Green and hung out with Tommy and Chris. Am trying to get them to go to Tux

Done

Swaps are done and mailed out. Only four days late. But at least they're gone to the mail.

Went to the women's group at the library. There were only four of us. I'm not sure how long it will last. I do enjoy it though.

Productive day

I think I did. I finished sorting all my knitting and crocheting tools yesterday. Today I finally go the swaps ready and they'll be mailed this week. I ran out of money so I don't know that I can mail two with $7.00. I'll mail them Thursday if I have to.

Chris called and asked me to supper. Marcia made quesidillas. Yum!

Then I came home and made Judy's pistachio cake thing for her birthday and a chocolate pudding thing with whipped cream frosting.

The table is piled with crap but I think I'm doing good a little at a time.

Friday

We went to the Dew Drop for wings. Oh my God have we found THE best wings ever. We'll be going there often. Then to the Elks and now I'm home.

Oh a mile marker I guess. I joined the Derby Senior Center today.
