Have the rent

I am so blessed. Every month God sees to it that I have enough money to pay my bills. The rent money is all set and I called the apartment manager who will pick it up on Monday.

Sammy Dove went to prom last night -- she's so beautiful. I wish Allen were here to see her.

Sandy and I went to the Hibachi Grill and then to Seymour to the thrift store. I want to go to CTRF tomorrow but Chris doesn't have money. I offered to loan it to her indefinitely but she's balking.

Seymour Founder's Day is also tomorrow but I'm hoping to talk her into CTRF. I haven't been in so very long.

Elk night

Went to the Chinese buffet with Chris and then to the Elks. Tommy came down and we visited. I came home early. I'm just not into hanging out at the Elks for too long.

Sandy and I are going to the Hibachi Grill tomorrow.

Chris and I might go to the Robin Hood Faire in Guilford on Sunday. If not that then we'll go to Seymour Founder's Day.

Long day

Woke up at five and got up. Made coffee and drank some and then got ready and off to work. Had lots of stuff to do in work and then came home for a bit. Went over to Laura's for a meeting. The aldermen are yanking our chains. I don't think they want Derby Day.

Joe is moving to Florida

So Joe Sheehey is moving to Florida next week. Roseann got a bunch of us together to have supper with him at Alberto's tonight. It was nice. I just wish she'd asked Chris too because if (when) she finds out we were all there she might feel bad.

It was me, Diane and Mike, Ray and Patty, Joe, Carol, Roseann, Anita, Yvonne and Spencer. We had a great time and stayed several hours.

It was nice and cool today. So much so that I baked a chocolate dump cake after work.

Insomnia

Took my pill last night and didn't fall asleep until after 4 a.m. I was pretty much ok all day even with it being over 85 degrees IN work. But now it's 7 p.m. and I'm exhausted. I'm thinking of not taking a pill tonight but on the other hand I do really need to sleep.

One year ago today

My best friend, Lou, left me. There's an ache in my heart that will never go away.

Walked in the parade with the Elks. The Historical Society was right behind us and the Ren faire behind them.

Then I met Chris down at the Elks and we went over to the CWV to eat. They serve hot dogs and hamburgers after the parade -- free. Ron Culmo was there and talked with us for an hour or so.

Came home and cooked up some shrimp for tonight and for lunch tomorrow. Lunch will be salad -- lettuce, red onions, fennel, radishes, cucumbers and topped off with shrimp and croutons. YUM!! Also boiled some eggs for later in the week.

Wet books

Today was another beautiful day and I got a lot done. But first -- think I forgot to mention that Ruffio dumped the brand new -- so new it's a 14 day book -- library book into the tub which was half full of water. So I have to figure out how to tell them AND pay for the book. Grrrrrrrrrrr!!

Anyway I got up early this morning and worked some more on arranging my cupboard. Still have a mess to do but I did a LOT. I also hemmed Joel's curtains for his camper. I worked on one of the chameleons and one hexi. Took a shower. Met Chris at her house and we went to the parade. Talked to Danny about them coming to Derby Day. And went to Chris' sister's for supper.

A nice day in all.

Hope tomorrow is just as nice. I can't believe tomorrow will be a year since Lou died. I miss her so very much.

Beautiful day

The weather was absolutely glorious today -- around 70 degrees and dry and sunny. Sandy and I went to Cracker Barrel then A.C. Moores, Joanne's and Barnes and Nobel. Then home.

I've been rearranging the cupboard and made crostini and worked on one of the chameleons. It's so nice to have three days off.

Rita called this morning -- their house got broken into last night while they were at Lindsey's. They smashed through the living room window and took meds. There wasn't any money and they didn't take anything else except Rita's cheap camera. Thank God they didn't take my stuff so I had her bring it over today.

Not good

So what Laura and Joel had to say was worse than bad. It sucks. The aldermen seem hell bent on stopping Derby Day. They want the vendors to pay for their background checks -- which they shouldn't even have to have. This year they said $15. Next year they also want $200 per vendor for licenses.

I saw Judy Nicolari tonight and asked her and she said Ansonia does NOT do that and that we're going to lose our vendors. She said this would kill Derby Day. I agree.

Saw Anita at the art gallery and I told her how upset I am. She wants to have a meeting before the committee meeting -- the committee meeting that's going to discuss vendors and stuff. I'm going to research all the other towns and contact the heads of their fairs and get info from them to bring with me to the committee meeting. This is bullshit!

Missed a day

Guess I missed a day -- yesterday was a normal day at work. Last night Chris and I and Pattie Degnan and Mary Ann DePoala all met down at Bar None for supper. Of course I ordered mashed potato pizza. YUM!! Mary Ann was in our class at high school but had to quit to help out her family just a few months before graduation. She is up from South Carolina and wanted to get together. We had a really nice time.

Tonight I was going to help Rita hem two of Lindsey's dresses she wants to wear in Hawaii but when she brought them over -- they're way too nice for me to end up screwing them up. I haven't sewn in years and didn't dare try it.

I'm sitting here waiting for Laura and Joel to come by or for me to go there. I have to pick up my pan and jacket and they have to let me know what happened at the aldermen's meeting. They said they want to tell me in person so I'm thinking it's not that great.

Casino

God was good to me and I came home only $37 less than what I left with. But we went to the diner so that was another $25 since I paid and then Target for $60. But I could have easily lost all that instead of spent it.

That was my day. Work tomorrow. :)

Off tomorrow

Sandy and I are going to the casino tomorrow. Hope I come back with more than what I go with!!

And I am now in a 36D which is not good at all. And I'm overweight. Tomorrow will be a pig out day but as of June 1st, I'm going to do Weight Watchers and walk or ride my bike or whatever. I need to lose weight.

Went to the chef thing at the library and ate asparagus. And liked it! And Parmesan.

Great day

I baked a ham and made potatoes and corn and Anthony, Karla, Sam, Kayla and Molly the dog came over. I had a wonderful day. We ate and we went to the antique/junk stores and then for ice cream. I'm a happy camper today.

$600+

Went for an oil change but ended up spending over $600. Front brake pads, a rotor, and other things. He said he didn't even charge me for the oil change. Bleh! And there's tons more work needed, he said.

But the Eco Fest went really well considering it was our first. Anita bought us breakfast sandwiches and the sun shone bright. It was a fun time.

Oh and I had a mini reiki session with Cheryl. My ankle still is fine after she did the reiki at the library. Today she pinpointed possibly a digestive problem and I told her I have IBS. So we'll see if that changes. I prayed during the reiki for God's healing to come through the reiki energy.

Friday night

So we got out of work at 3 p.m. to 'celebrate Commencement.' Whatever the reason it was good and I was able to stop at Shoprite before going home. Then I met Chris at the Chinese buffet and then we went to the lodge. I did see Misty -- she'll be 27 in two weeks and getting married in the fall. She was 14 when we first met. Wow! I didn't see the others and I need to talk to Jim or Danny so hopefully I'll catch them next week.

That's about it. Have to be up early tomorrow for the Eco Fest. I really hope it's a huge success. Next year will be much bigger.

Thursday

My legs are so sore from my little walk yesterday. Geez!

Came home after work and worked my butt off making Paulette's cake for tomorrow. Now I'm sitting waiting for Grey's Anatomy to start.

Anthony called but I had the phone on vibrate. They were going to come down but when I realized the ringer was on vibrate it was too late.

Missing my Carol and family.

Tired

Walked down the Riverwalk to the Eco Fest site - from home. There's a place to get on the Riverwalk just over the bridge and it leads right down to the Island. It's pretty cool but probably longer than just going straight up Main Street.

We worked on cleaning up the site. Joel might be getting a job as part time custodian at the library.

Library

I love my library. Went to see a couple that did a Beatles tribute and they played four songs I never heard.

The summer reading program will be starting soon.

Monday

Just a regular Monday and nowhere near as hot as yesterday - at least at home. At work the blowers are broken so it was 82 degrees. ARG! I can't get away from the heat.

Watched a Mother Angelica marathon yesterday and watched the Mass that was said live at the National Cathedral in DC. It felt good. I recorded a bunch of Mother Angelica stuff so I can keep watching.

Tonight I just watched tv and played light with Ruffio.

Supper at Laura's

I putzed around all day doing odds and ends and then went to Laura's for supper.\

Diana called me for Mother's Day. She's always the first to call me for my special days. I love her so much. Anthony called too and Carol texted me.

Anthony will be home Tuesday. I invited them over to eat on Sunday.

Hexis

Did the usual with Sandy. We went to the Denny's near my work and then the Yarn Barn and then Amity Plaza.

Stayed home the rest of the day and was hoping to stay home tomorrow. Somehow I didn't realize I have no extra toilet paper -- I DO have a ton of paper towels. So the only thing I planon doing outside the house tomorrow is buy toilet paper. LOL!!

I finished one and a half hexis off the magic yarn ball.

Another Friday

I started using my new laptop last night because I think the old one is finally losing it. It keeps going offline -- I thought it was Comcast doing it, but so far I've had no issues with this one.

Tonight is the Elks. Last thing I want to do but it seems to be a thing now. Bleh!

Thursday

Went to Big Y after work and picked up a few things.

Then internet was causing problems, I thought. But I decided to try my new laptop and it works fine. So I think the old one is on it's last legs.

Time for bed.

A Cosmic Night

Went to Cosmic -- Margaret picked me up and we met Donna and picked her up at St. Michael's. Pete came. He said his daughter found out that Hotel Hell will be airing in July and our episode is on last. At least it will get on!!

Bankruptcy

It's done. Rita went with me and I drove into New Haven. I didn't mind that at all. I like New Haven. And the trustee was nice and so was the lawyer they had representing me. It was all over in five minutes. Chapter 7. So now I can start over yet again.

Plants

Went to the laundromat and took care of the blankets and whatever clothes needed washing. I also went to Home Depot and bought five plants -- lavender, parsley, hot peppers, and two others that I already forgot. I have all the stuff to plant from seed but I think it's a little too late in the season. I'll save it all for next year. Hopefully I won't kill these.

Kentucky Derby

So Chris and her sister went to OTB in Milford today to put bets on the Kentucky Derby. I gave her $5 to put a bet on the same horse to come in third. The darned horse came in fourth. LOL!!

Went to church rummage sales with Sandy today and then to eat at a fantastic new place in Ansonia called The Pantry. Oh my God is their food great. And that's only breakfast. LOL!!

Holy cow!

This is the first time I've forgotten to write anything in such a long time. April 28th was Monday and today is Friday. Wow!

Well the news of the day is that Allena Rose bought $500 worth of games on Carol and Anthony's X-Box. Yep -- three years old and she's already going on shopping sprees!!! LOL!! Luckily they will get reimbursed but it's just too funny. I miss that little girl so much -- and her parents too, of course.

Went to the Elks tonight with Chris and that's about it.

This week? Monday I went to a program on the Civil War at the library which was pretty interesting but I think I already put that. Tuesday we had pizza at Laura and Joel's. It was supposed to be a Cultural Commission meeting but we really had nothing new to talk about. Wednesday and Thursday I got to come home after work and just relax.
